Good day and welcome to the Queens Head Inn web pages. Below I've tried to encapsulate all that makes the Queens Head unique among Lake District pubs.
Now on with a short introduction to Queens Head Inn...

The Queens Head Inn is a Traditional Style English Country Pub and Restaurant situated in the village of Tirril on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Tirril is only 3 miles from the shores of Lake Ullswater, one of the most tranquil lakes in the county. The Queens Head dating from 1719 with it's oak beams and 4 real fireplaces contains a wealth of memorabilia including strong connections with the famous English poet William Wordsworth who owned the property in the 1830's.

Over the past 4 years our food and hospitality have built us a local and national reputation as the premier dining establishment in Cumbria. In 1996 we were honoured to receive the Cumbrian Dining Pub of the Year Award and the Chef responsible is continuously producing food of the highest standards on our regularly changing
A la Cartè menu.

Traditional English dishes are complemented by fresh fish specials, vegetarian and the best of foreign cuisine. Exotic meats such as Ostrich and Kangaroo are regularly on offer.

The 2 bars stock a range of 4 Real ales including 2 constantly changing guest ales. The bars have an extensive collection of Malt Whiskies and many wines are available by the bottle and by the glass including several Country Fruit wines.

The Queens Head has 7 rooms, mainly en-suite, including doubles, twins and singles. All rooms have Colour TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
