Ravenglass
& Eskdale Railway More
commonly known as the La'al
Ratty, the Ravenglass & Eskdale 15" narrow guage railway
carries visitors from the former Roman fort of Ravenglass, through the
Eskdale Valley to Eskdale village some 11.2km away. The journey offers
some stunning Lake District views and has been called "the most beautiful
train journey in England" by many. |

Tynedale Railway The
South Tynedale Railway operates narrow gauge passenger trains along a
2¼ mile line along the scenic South Tyne valley between Alston, in Cumbria
and Kirkhaugh, in Northumberland.Train services operate between April
and October each year with other special services out of season. |
